After Lady Gaga recently announced that she would rather be compared to heavy metal greats Iron Maiden instead of pop sensation Madonna, the metal front man Bruce Dickinson spoke up and stated that he prefers the Artpop singer's music over the long-time pop diva's.
Gaga previously called Iron Maiden "one of the greatest rock bands in history," and they returned the favor when Dickinson praised Gaga on Corus Radio according to NME. "I think she's great, and I agree with her: she's not the next Madonna; she's way better than that."
Further expanding on his thoughts, Dickinson added, "First of all, she can sing - she's got a belter of a voice - [and] she's a really good instrumentalist. And, I mean, she's got a great sense of drama. And anybody that could turn up to an awards ceremony dressed as a bacon sandwich gets my vote. I mean, she's great."
"Some people really don't know the importance of metal and the scope of it. [Iron Maiden] were filling stadiums, and they still are. And it's because of the culture of the music, the poetry that's so powerful, that whenever the fans come together, they unite in the essence of what Iron Maiden is all about. I always used to say to people, when they would say, 'Oh, she's the next Madonna.' No, I'm the next Iron Maiden," Gaga told CR Fashion Book.
On September 4, Iron Maiden unveiled its 16th studio album titled The Book of Souls--the first album to be released trailing the diagnosis of Dickinson's cancerous tumor.
In the meantime, Gaga recently showed off her menacing acting chops in a new trailer for American Horror Story: Hotel, in which she was seen dancing to German band Rammstein's music. For her first major TV role, the "Bad Romance" singer will portray The Countess (Elizabeth), the owner of the hotel in the dark FX drama's fifth season of the anthology series. In order to prepare for the impending season and bond with her star-studded cast mates of Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts and more, the "Poker Face" singer threw a bloody pool bash in true spooky AHS fashion.
