Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus Feud: 'Anaconda' Rapper Tells VMAs Host to Consider Black Women

The riff between Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus at the 2015 MTV VMAs wasn't just real, it's still not over. In a new interview with The New York Times magazine, the "Anaconda" rapper once again calls out this year's VMAs host for appropriating black culture without understanding "what's bothering" black women.

Minaj candidly called out Cyrus at this year's VMAs, declaring "Miley, what's good?!" just a week after Cyrus called Minaj for "being not too kind" about calling out thin, white women who got nominated for Video of the Year (including Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" and Taylor Swift's winning "Bad Blood").

In The New York Times magazine, Minaj was still bothered by the rift, and said that Cyrus wants the benefits of black culture without understanding people's feelings and emotions.

"The fact that you feel upset about me speaking on something that affects black women makes me feel like you have some big balls. You're in videos with black men, and you're bringing out black women on your stages, but you don't want to know how black women feel about something that's so important?" she said. "Come on, you can't want the good without the bad. If you want to enjoy our culture and our lifestyle, bond with us, dance with us, have fun with us, twerk with us, rap with us, then you should also want to know what affects us, what is bothering us, what we feel is unfair to us. You shouldn't not want to know that.''

Minaj clearly wants to reiterate that black is beautiful. She also called out today's rappers for dating skinny, white women once they become successful, contrasting that to the '90s hip-hop heyday.

"Back in the day, in hip-hop, the thick girl was glorified. Now the rappers are dating skinny white women," she said. "So it's almost like, 'Wait a minute, who's going to tell the thick black girls that they're sexy and fly, too?'"
