Lady Gaga Talks Love of Horror Movies, 'AHS' on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'

As if her role in American Horror Story: Hotel didn't give it away, Lady Gaga doesn't scare so easily--she loves gore and horror. The fictional AHS hotel owner stopped by The Tonight Show Tuesday night (Oct. 6) to express her undying love for horror and how it actually relaxes her.

"Dangerous things and horror relaxes me," the singer explained to host Jimmy Fallon. "It really freaks out my friends a lot. It particularly freaks out my fiancé quite a bit as well."

The ARTPOP singer continued to rattle off true-crime shows such as Snapped, Dateline and The Jinx as her favorite shows. She keeps the focus on the conviction of the killers which in turn makes her unafraid and immune to horror, giving her the push she needs to nail her American Horror Story role, Elizabeth Cortez. She later went on to discuss how morphing into a pop star opened many doors for her, including the one to acting.

Gaga also noted that she loved "the dichotomy of sex and horror at the same time," something Jimmy Fallon claimed to relate to. "I'm used to that," Fallon said. "That sounds a lot like my life."

The fifth season of the anthology series aired Wednesday, Oct. 7, trailing previous seasons focused on a haunted house, a mental asylum, a coven of witches and freak show. The FX show's co-creator, Ryan Murphy, has had nothing but praise for the pop star ever since she stepped foot on set.

"She's the only actress I think I've worked with who wanted to do more explicit stuff than was written," Murphy explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "You write a foursome for her and you expect a lot of questions. She never did that."

She's proven willing to do any and everything it takes to command her part and even describes her chance on the series as something that made her feel alive. In preparation and keeping character, Gaga threw a bloody pool bash for her star studded cast mates as Mashable notes, including Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Evan Peeters, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett and more.
