Ricky Hil, rapper and the son of fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger, was arrested for battery in Miami beach after an altercation with a bouncer at Club LIV. As NBC Miami report, the 25-year-old was also charged with disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana. Apparently, the young rapper punched the bouncer over his refusal to allow entry for his under-dressed friend. At one point, fire rescue was called upon to help the inebriated rapper, however he refused their assistance. Ricky Hill was released on bail for an undisclosed amount. He was released from TGK Correctional Center on Saturday.
The young heir and budding rapper had a promising start as according to XXL. In 2011, Ricky Hil signed a deal with Warner Brothers. After the deal was official, he released a song/documentary YouTube video detailing his recent success at the age of 21.
Regarding the deal, Hil said, "I've been signed for a few months, but this is the first time it's really real, because I couldn't tell anybody I was signed until Warner was ready to put the press release out. It's so surreal. I worked so hard for this shit." In the song, Hill claims "it ain't nothing", however he has had a difficult time breaking into the mainstream after his initial success.
Before Warner, Hil was signed to Swizz Beatz's Full Surface Records for three years, during which he released a slew of mixtapes, freestyles, and tracks.
Hil says Warner Bros. initially showed interested in him through R&B artist The Weeknd. "Warner was talking to the singer The Weeknd and they asked him, 'Who do you want to work with; Who's your favorite artist; We can probably make it happen;' And he said 'Rich Hil.' So automatically they called me to the offices in LA and started talking about a deal, and we did it and everything worked out."
