In addition to U2, Foo Fighters and Coldplay concert cancellations in Paris following the brutal terrorist attacks and ensuing tragedy, Marilyn Manson and Papa Roach have now canceled concert dates in the French capital after the recent terrorism.
Manson was slated to perform at the Zenith theatre on this upcoming Tuesday (November 17) but it was dropped following concerns over security according to Entertainment Weekly. A translated statement on the theatre's website said that they were ordered to cancel the shows by the authorities and posted, "It was not The Zenith or the artists who wanted to cancel their shows. But we cannot go against the local government decree."
It was later posted on Manson's Twitter account that the tour in support of his latest album The Pale Emperor would continue later in the week (November 18) with a concert in Brussels.
Papa Roach had not one but two shows cancelled in the wake of the tragedy, one in Lille, which is located in the Northern part of France and another in the capital. The concert date in Lille was due to occur on Sunday night. The band had explained that it was talking with the French authorities about the concert in Paris and if the security concerns were grave enough for the show to be cancelled.
They released vague information of the cancellation on in a statement Monday that said, "Out of respect for the victims and the French three days of national mourning, we will be canceling our show in Paris, Monday 16th November. For those affected by this, more info will be released soon. We will return and play many more French shows so until then, we stand united."
Papa Roach had been scheduled to perform at the Olympia theatre in the city center but will continue their tour on Tuesday with a show in Amsterdam. It has yet to be announced how the group will go about refunding monies to those who had already purchased tickets for the canceled date.
