Jeff Rosenstock’s Gear and Belongings Stolen on Modern Baseball Tour

Jeff Rosenstock's van was broken into and his band's gear, instruments, clothing and more was stolen. He is currently on tour with Modern Baseball, PUP and Tiny Moving Parts in support of his recent SideOneDummy release We Cool?.

According to the artist's Twitter, a window in his tour van was broken in San Francisco following their Sunday night show in nearby Oakland, Alternative Press reports. The artist and his bandmembers also tweeted photos of the stolen items, urging fans to keep an eye out for the gear and instruments (and providing specific serial numbers) in local pawn shops and Craigslist postings.

As Brooklyn Vegan reports, a GoFundMe page was set up shortly after the news broke. In the very modest words of Rosenstock himself, "Please don't feel obligated to do anything because we give away our music for free, we have never wanted anything in return for that," but he does remind fans that he and his band are essentially "a bunch of sad boys and girls who no longer have any clothes, wandering around naked with sick riffs and no tone, dredging through this stupid country playing for nice people like you," so he urges fans who can help out to please do so. You can read the full statement and find out how you can help here.

By the time Rosenstock et al finished the day-long process of filing reports at the Mission Police Station in San Francisco, the GoFundMe page had far surpassed their expectations. Within a mere 7 hours, close to 600 fans already donated over $17,000 dollars; the fundraiser's goal is set at $18K. The donation page was also shared over 1800 times just a few hours after going live. As a thank you, Rosenstock shared an acoustic version of a new track entitled "Edan's Song" on the GoFundMe page.
