While they may be newly dating, it doesn't appear that Blake Shelton is giving Gwen Stefani any breaks on The Voice. On Monday (Nov. 16) the NBC hit show aired had its top 12 go head-to-head, and while he did give out some unexpected praise to Team Gwen, it doesn't mean that Shelton isn't still into winning.
The singer said to Rolling Stone Country, "No matter how kind I may be to Gwen when it's just her versus Adam. I'm still in this thing to win it."
He also expressed just how attached he gets to his team during the competition, "The first live episode and the finale are the two most nerve-wracking episodes for me every season, because you find out what your team is really made of as far as this kind of pressure," he said.
He continued with, "This is life, it's raw, there's no editing. And if you're lucky enough to have someone in the finale, by then you're attached and you're so invested in that one person, you really want them to win."
Despite Shelton's fervent desire to win despite their personal relationship, he certainly flirted on camera with Stefani during the episode. When contestant Amy Vachal of Pharrell's team did a jazzed up rendition of "Hotline Bling" by Drake Shelton claimed to know the song because Stefani had sang it to him on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The couple then reportedly blushed when the other hosts and audience reacted.
