The Russian side currently sits on top of the Group H standings, with Valencia in second, but with half the amount of points. Today's games in this group will certainly determine which team will accompany Zenit into the next round of the UEFA Champions League, and it's between Valencia and Gent.
Midfielder Sofiane Feghouli of the Spanish side is hopeful that today will end in a positive result for his team.
"I think we've got some good momentum now - we have to treat this game as a final and do everything to win over there," he said. "On matchday one, many of us were tense and inexperienced. I think we learned from that game. Coming home with qualification in our pocket would be wonderful."
While FC Zenit isn't as big a name as Valencia, the club is full of recognizable players and coach Andre Villas-Boas has acquired his own reputation as one of the best young coaches in the world.
