For what seems like a natural pairing, country star Kelsea Ballerini brought pop star Tori Kelly on stage during her sold-out Los Angeles Troubadour show to perform an acoustic version of Kelly's hit song "Should Have Been Us."
The "Love Me like You Mean It" star showered Kelly in compliments to introduce her to the stage saying that when Ballerini first decided she wanted to become an artist she promised she would highlight the talents of other women once she had made it.
"I decided that I want to be about girls lifting girls up," Ballerini said in between songs. "There has been an incredible amount artists that have come up the last few year and I'm about to bring one out that's one of my favorite artists ever. She is the kindest and one of the most talented and effortlessly confident people I have ever met in my life—Tori Kelly is here."
Kelly was taken back by the immense gratitude and responded saying the same could be said of Ballerini before both agreed they were getting gross.
The leading ladies took the stage with just two acoustic guitars tackling Kelly's soulful song. They traded verses and harmonized on top of one another, their voices melding well together. During the bridge Ballerini has a look of true admiration as Kelly hits the high note on the climax of the song.

As Rolling Stone Country notes, this is not the first time Kelly has paired with a country artist to perform her pop tune. Back in September, Little Big Town brought her on stage to perform the song shortly before her MTV VMAs performance.
"Should Have Been Us" reached No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Ballerini's hit song "Love Me Like You Mean It" climbed to No. 45 on the chart.
