Migos member Offset is now a free man. According to social media and various outlets, he was released on Friday (Dec. 4). Offset wasted no time and revealed on Instagram that he will drop a mixtape on Saturday.
The news was shared by the Migos’ official Twitter account as well as collaborator Rich The Kid.
"THEY CANT STOP GODS PLAN OFFSET FREE #YRN," the group says on its official account.
In April, all three members of the group were arrested and reportedly charged with "possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm in a school safety zone and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime" during their performance at Georgia Southern University.
Takeoff and Quavo were later released, but Offset remained in jail due to his felony record.
In addition to holding without bail, prosecutors previously said that he needed to stay behind bars because he sparked a jailhouse riot over the summer.
TMZ reported that Offset had his fourth bail hearing on Friday and that his attorney argued that there's no evidence to support a trial against the “Fight Night” rapper, much less hold him without bail for 233 days.
Last month, Takeoff and Quavo offered an update on Offset during an interview with DJ Vlad.
“He coming home real soon,” Takeoff said. “He got his head up, man. We letting him know. He staying in tune. He knows what’s going on. He good. He straight. He ain’t worry about nothing.”
The initial arrest forced the Migos to push back their Yung Rich Nation tour and delay the album's release. The Migos released their feature-less Back to the Bando mixtape in September.
Back in August, the group shared plans to release another album.
