Australian-based tech house production duo, Human Movement, has just dropped its debut EP, Dancing Room. Before sharing the full EP, the duo released a video for the lead single and title track. Watch "Dancing Room," below.
The four-track EP illustrates the deeper, darker side of house with sonic elements of industrial, techno and electro. It kicks-off with the minimal house groove of the title track, then leads rather seamlessly into the dream-like second single, "Robots Have a Voice." The third track, "Better Off Dead," features Deadmau5's prodigy, Eekkoo, who brings a distinctive Mau5trap tech house vibe to the cut.
The EP closes with "5AM" which, as most house fans will agree, is the best time to digest a release like Dancing Room.
As Nest HQ has already stated, the dark, brooding, yet dancefloor-ready EP is "overall reminiscent of a purer era in dance music when well-constructed grooves and sensible drums reigned supreme."
Although the production duo of 19-year-old Blake Gilray and 21-year-old Edward MacDonald are younger than most house artists and only started the project just over a year ago, they've already proven themselves to be a force with which to be reckoned in the Australian house music scene which is currently bursting at the seams with next-level talent.
According to a press release, what started as a hobby, a mere passion project for two teenaged friends, quickly evolved into the signing of a release with German label, Exposure Music, airtime on Australia's Triple J radio and a fan-demanded tour across their home country. Additionally, their single, "Stranger," found its way into the playlist of thousands of H&M stores across the European continent, Your EDM reports. Remember, this all happened in just one year of Human Movement even existing.
After earning a headlining spot at Strawberry Fields Festival this past summer among the aforementioned accolades, the duo has closed-out a pretty prolific year by releasing the Dancing Room EP on the duo's own newly founded BEHM label.
The EP is out now on iTunes. You can also stream it via Soundcloud below.
