As was previously reported, Big Sean's Los Angeles mansion experienced a recent break-in. Among the items the burglar chose to steal included jewelry and unreleased music. However, it appears there was more to the story. The burglar is suspected to be an associate of Big Sean's, and has even gone so far as to leave a taunting note about the robbery.
As TMZ reports, the suspects have given Sean an email correspondence with which he can attempt to retrieve the stolen goods.
However, when the Los Angeles police attempted to trace the email address, they came up with nothing. TMZ reports that a special unit of the LAPD has been put on this case to track down the audacious burglars.
Sean's home in the Valley was broken into earlier in December, and a reported $150,000 in jewelry was stolen. Further, the thieves stole unreleased music from Sean's house that could possibly be leaked, or given to other rappers to copy.
As TMZ reports, Sean was vacationing in Dubai at the time of the robbery.
According to HipHopDX, "Big Sean's team believes the thieves knew the Detroit rapper was out of town and were familiar with the layout of his home. They think it was an inside job."
As Vibe reports, this isn't the first high-profile robber that has occurred as of late. Back in August, Chris Brown's home was burglarized. The singer's aunt was allegedly held at gunpoint during the incident, while Chris Brown as at Club Argyle in Hollywood, California. Vibe reports that Brown's robbery may, too, have occurred through someone the rapper knows. The possibility of a string of robberies against high-profile is daunting, not only due to the loss of possession and security, but for the valuable music that may never see the day of light as well.
