Wayne "The Train" Hancock was involved in a serious motorcycle wreck on Saturday and is currently in the ICU. According to his Facebook, the singer was involved in a single person accident. Though he was wearing a helmet, it came off at some point during the crash and it was until a CT scan was completed that his neck and spinal cord were cleared as being uninjured. Other parts of him weren't so lucky, as he suffered a collapsed lung and a fractured elbow.
Cindie Weatherly, a member of his team, has been keeping fans updated through Wayne's Facebook with regular updates. The singer is said to be in good spirits and "wishes he could be with Y'all, but things are out of his hands at the moment and must do as the Doctors tell him so as to make sure he CAN return to Y'all. He sends his Love and Regrets and asks for Prayers and Good Thoughts..."
His arm is in a soft cast at this point and due to his compromised lung, doctors are monitoring him closely for any signs of pneumonia. Saving Country Music reported that he had a blood transfusion on Tuesday.
At 9 a.m. ET this morning, he went into surgery and Cindie requested prayers. At this point, it is not known what he is having operated on.
As for his bike, it didn't fare as well as Wayne did. The bars broke at the tree and the crash bars bent in two different directions.
Cindie, Wayne's sister Rosemary Snow and friend Gina Galina are all at his bedside, watching over him and keeping everyone apprised of his condition.
Cindie says that anyone who wants to send him cards can send them to:
4937 Stuart Rd #181
Denton, TX 76207
She will personally deliver them to Wayne in the hospital.
The shows he had scheduled up through June 9th have been cancelled but will be rescheduled once he's back on his feet.
Though Wayne may sing about being wild, free and reckless, the fact that he was wearing a helmet while riding tells us that he doesn't take the reckless part to heart!
