Dillon Francis had quite the weekend, as his tour stopped in LA for his 4th annual IDGAFOS Weekend, where Francis displayed a plethora of new tunes, including his unreleased flip of the highly coveted track from GTA, "Red Lips."
Francis already treated us to two new tracks when he dropped IDs with NGHTMRE and Alesso on day one and two of the four day weekend, but most recently, he released his take on "Red Lips."
The song title might ring a "recognition-bell," as for months, we anxiously waited for Skrillex to officially release his remix of "Red Lips," as it was one of the most anticipated releases of 2015. Naturally, Skrillex did not disappoint and threw down a heavy-hitting, bass heavy, vintage-Skrillex rendition of the original. This weekend, at IDGAFOS with Francis, the Skrillex remix may have been one-upped.
As first reported by EDMTunes, Francis took the crowd to another level when he, surprisingly, dropped this remix in the middle of his set. Although recorded via an amateur video, you can see, and hear, most of the remix in pretty good quality, which has fans even more excited to learn more about this remix.
When heard, Francis clearly takes Skrillex's remix and adds his own twist to that remix, making it somewhat Skrillex-esque, mixed in with Francis's heavy bass, unique sampling, and some noticeable tempo changes. The first drop varies greatly from the second drop, so make sure to watch the entire video as you don't want to miss any of the tricks Francis has up his sleeve.
Seeing as though we've already received three new tracks from Francis from this past weekend (his two ID's with NGHTMRE & Alesso and now this remix), it wouldn't be surprising if more new music from Francis surfaced in the coming days. There's no timeframe on his "Red Lips" remix to be released, but stay tuned as we know more about this gem!
