Just a week after announcing her world tour, Joyride, Tinashe is back with a new track, "Energy." The Mike WiLL Made-It produced track features Juicy J and is a must have on your playlist.
The track is smooth and has a mellow flow to it as Tinashe sings, "I've been playing so shy / You been running that game / Said I've been stuck on your mind / Don't play." Juicy J falls right into step with Tinashe as he raps, "We doing jumping jacks, we doing yoga / She exercise, she eat yogurt/She read books and watch Oprah / I let her ride me, I'm her chauffeur."
The track may or may not on Tinashe's upcoming album, Joyride, but either way we are feeling it. And of course, we are always happy to get some new music from the singer.
Tinashe's Joyride will be the follow up to her debut studio album, Aquarius, and her March mixtape, Amethyst. The tracklist has yet to be announced for the album but it is due to drop on January 29th before Tinashe heads off to tour. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Tinashe talked about the upcoming album, "I have so many sides to me and things that I want to represent. Working with all of those producers is a search to be versatile and being versatile. It's always interesting navigating working with all these very different producers - you have to learn how to work with each of them individually, but that's part of the fun and the process of recording."
The U.S./Canada leg of the tour starts on February 28th in Minneapolis and ends in April before she heads to Europe to tour. Along with "Energy," Tinashe will be performing the already released tracks, "Player" featuring Chris Brown and "Party Favors" featuring Young Thug.
