On the heels of the release of his Purple Reign mixtape, Future is already hinting at more new music.
On Tuesday (Jan. 19), the Atlanta rapper jumped on Twitter and revealed that he has more projects in the works. He also referred to Purple Reign, which he substituted with the umbrella emoji, as a “pre warm up” and told fans to get ready.
No word on when to expect the new music, but it’s apparent that Future is looking to continue his winning streak from 2015 into the new year.
In July, Future charted his first No. 1 album thanks to DS2. The album moved 131,500 actual albums, more than double what his sophomore album Honest sold during spring of 2014. The project easily took the title as Future's most successful album yet. DS2 was followed by What A Time to Be Alive, his joint album with Drake.
Both projects came after Future’s impressive mixtape output consisting of Monster, 56 Nights and Beast Mode.
Since its announcement last April, fans have been anticipating his Mike WiLL Made-It-produced mixtape Ape Sh*t. The Atlanta-based producer hinted at the collaborative mixtape, sharing the possible mixtape cover on Twitter. Since then, details about the tape have been limited.
Back in October, Future announced his intentions to release Monster 2. In October 2014, the “Where Ya At” rhymer released Monster, which birthed a new slew of fans known on social media as the “#FutureHive.”
Aside from his own projects, Future is slated to be featured on Mike WiLL's forthcoming Ransom 2 mixtape. Last week, a track named after civil rights activist Al Sharpton made its way to the Internet. A release date has not yet been set for the tape.
In the meantime, check out Purple Reign and look out for more updates on Future's forthcoming projects.
