'AHS' Season 6 Rumors: New Episodes Based on Slender Man Internet Meme?

Slender Man, a cult internet meme made popular through the notorious Creepy Pasta website and a handful of independent survival horror video games, could be coming to TV in a big way. According to new rumors, the always-popular American Horror Story series on FX might use this pop culture character as the main focus of the upcoming season 6 episodes. Find out more about these possible spoilers below.

According to an alleged insider speaking with Us Weekly, an outside script has caught the attention of the producers of the show and they want to use it for the next season.

"Someone else wrote the script, and AHS wants to adapt it to fit the show," the source said, according to ComicBook.com. "They have to buy the rights. Then they're going to figure out the cast from there."

Whether or not this information is true, Slender Man is a character that would fit perfectly into the AHS storytelling. He was created by Eric Knudsen, and is oddly tall with very long, outstretched limbs. Slender Man has been used in a number of ways in media, but the creepiness of this well-dressed being is based on stalking and jump-scares - both of which fit the AHS mold, don't you think?

We also want to point out that the AHS writers tend to use real-life urban legends to tell each season's stories, and, unfortunately, Slender Man has had some real-world influence that could turn into an arc on the show.

In 2014, two 12-year-old girls coerced a classmate of theirs during a sleepover into a scary ritual of sorts. They stabbed her multiple times at a playground, which luckily didn't end in the victim's death. According to reports, the attackers claimed a creature that they referred to as "Slender" influenced them. You can read more on this here and here.

We mentioned that this character is the subject used in multiple video games. Check out one of the more recent takes on Slender Man here:
