Along with The Game, Big Sean, Meek Mill and more, Pusha T has donated truckloads water bottles to the Flint, Michigan water crisis.
The G.O.O.D. Music President was very secretive of his semi-trucks full of water donation, but according to BET, Pusha wanted to help without the publicity. He sent two drivers from Norfolk, Virginia with two semi-trucks filled with 2,000 bottles of water in total. The water took three days to unload and it was given directly to the residents of Flint, Michigan.
According to MLive, Lakeesha Atkinson of Partners in the Community made the following statement about Pusha and his donation, "He's very humble," Atkinson said. "He doesn't do anything for recognition or for the spotlight. We didn't want to do a drop off location. We wanted to come out and give it to places in the community that may have had trouble with transportation that a lot of donations, per media, were not hitting."
Pusha T teamed up with Dr. Melvin O. Marriner of Grove Baptist Church in Virginia for the semi-trucks.
Though a huge donation, the Flint water crisis is far from over. According to Yahoo News, Russell Simmons has joined in the fight to help Flint. Simmons held a town hall meeting and visited multiple residents. While visiting residents they discussed the water filters provided to them and the negative affects the water has caused.
“This is so dirty and so wrong,” Simmons stated during the town hall meeting. “We’re late but it’s better late than never.”
