On Feb. 14, 2016, the 10-episode first season of HBO's VINYL premieres, bringing all of the sex, drugs and rock n' roll of 1970s New York City to premium cable. Filmmaker Martin Scorsese, writer Terence Winter, and legendary music icon Mick Jagger serve as producers of this highly anticipated new show, with firsthand experiences coming straight for the Rolling Stones frontman's past. A new interview with the "Satisfaction" singer ahead of the premiere episode reveals some of these details. You can watch this special promotional interview clip below.

Sitting down with HBO, Jagger explains that everything about New York City in the 1970s was ideal for a young, single musician. He's experienced all of the cliché rock star moments you can imagine, but he thinks that VINYL can help show how record label executives were just as wild as the talent!
Jagger also talks briefly about his friendship with Andy Warhol and how important other artistic expressions (art, film, literature) were just as important as music during the tumultuous decade.

According to The LA Times, Martin Scorsese has nothing but praise for his co-producer.
"Mick is a great artist, period, but he's also a great creative partner," the director said. "It's not just a matter of knowing this or that story but of getting the feel of it: what it felt like to be a promotional assistant at a record company, or a platinum-selling band at the mercy of the executives, and what it felt like to be in those offices, in those recording booths, in those clubs. The texture of it all, the life ... that's what Mick brought to it."
