David Bowie Classic Tracks Get Vinyl Reissues for April and May

During the celebration of Record Store Day 2016 on April 16, two vinyl records of iconic pop star David Bowie will be reissued, aiming to maintain the popularity of vinyl record sales and to honor the recording artist.

The Bowie reissues are the track "TVC15" from the album Station to Station in 1976's with a 2010 single edit of "Wild is the Wind" and The Man Who Sold The World album from 1970, Pitchfork reported.

According to Bowie's official Facebook page, the picture disc will be featuring the original German LP fold out round cover showing the artwork of Witt of Hamburg. It comes with a sleeve with two foot wide circular images. The post added that "the original version of this release is the rarest of the Mercury versions of the album, which include the 'Dress Sleeve' and the 'Cartoon/Cowboy Cover.'"

Aside from these releases on April, CHANGESONEBOWIE, which features tracks from 1969 to 1976, will be released via Parlophone on May 20, 2016. The said date also marks forty years of the release of Bowie's first ever best compilation wherein the album remained at number 2 for eleven weeks during that time.

As it marks its anniversary, the CHANGESONEBOWIE album will be reissued on 180g heavyweight vinyl, compact discs and even digital formats which include Mastered for iTunes. The limited vinyl will be available in two colors, black and white but it won't be stated on the sleeve. Hence, collectors who will buy the album will randomly get either black or white vinyl records.

Meanwhile, John Malkovich will read an interpretation of Plato's Cave Allegory along with a musical piece which is set for release on Record Store Day Black Friday event on November 27. Other collaborators include Ric Ocasek of The Cars, Yoko Ono and The Dandy Warhols, NME reported.
