Sky Ferreira has been cast in the latest Edgar Wright film, Baby Driver, ahead of the release of her upcoming album Masochism. Masochism is slated to be released over the summer.
According to The Wrap, the film will feature names such as Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Kevin Spacey, Eiza Gonzalez, Jon Bernthal and Lily James. It is reportedly about a getaway driver played by Ansel Elgort who, after being convinced to work for a crime boss, gets into deep trouble.
Sony’s TriStar Pictures is reportedly set to distribute the film worldwide and will work on a co-financing deal with MRC. Reportedly, Baby Driver is set to be released in 2017. Ferreira also recently confirmed on Instagram that she will also be appearing in the Jessica Manafort film Rosy, also set to be released in 2017.
Ferreira has had a run of film appearances recently, and was cast in the 2015 film The Trust, which starred Elijah Wood and Nicolas Cage. The Trust is set to premiere at the film portion of SXSW next week. She was also featured in the 2015 film The Green Inferno directed by Eli Roth. Ferreira was also a part of the film Elvis & Nixon, which is set to be released nationally in theaters in April.
The singer and model is currently represented by WME (William Morris Endeavor) and ditched her former modeling agency CAA (Creative Artists Agency) this past September. Ferreira is additionally represented by IMG Models, which can be counted as a part of the WME and IMG takeover last year. Ferreira left CAA shortly before her fragrance campaign with Paco Rabanne and Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis, son of Daniel Day-Lewis, was readying to launch.
