Brandy (Norwood) released the single "Beggin & Pleadin" back in March; and performed the song live at BET's Black Girls Rock 2016! If the live performance of the single wasn't enough to make you fall in love with the song, now the music video has just been released with BET running a special exclusive 24-hour airing of the world premiere.
BET has been granted the exclusive premiere of Brandy's latest single off her upcoming seventh studio album. The site and TV network aired the world premiere on Friday April 15, that shows the Zoe Ever After star belting out the lyrics to the single in a juke joint atmosphere, reminiscent of that found in the film, The Color Purple.
Draped in a red sequin dress, Norwood is seen making her way down a flight of stairs, capturing the attention of onlookers as she walks by. The sultry singer takes her position at the microphone to begin her Shug Avery inspired performance.
"Damn boy why you make it so hard," are the lyrics that set off the first verse sang by Brandy. "Stop putting your foot on my heart. I know I did my wrong, I know I did my dirt, didn't know how bad I would hurt. Told you walk out that door and you can keep your last name, I'm down on my knees it's a shame, I'm beggin and pleadin."
The video features a cameo appearance by the songstress' younger brother Ray J, who along with everyone else in the room, are captivated by the singer and her background singers, draped in pearls.
Norwood took to Instagram to share images of the video with multiple captions letting all of her followers know the video has been released and would be airing on BET every hour, for their 24 hour special.
The 37-year-old performed the single live on Tuesday April 5, for the 2016 Black Girls Rock!.
