New Music From En Vogue, "Deja Vu" Off Upcoming Album [LISTEN]

After a five year hiatus, the now three member group, En Vogue, is back with a new single, "Deja Vu" off of the upcoming album, Electric Cafe.

The Boombox reported that the group who captured the hearts of R&B/Soul lovers during the 90s with songs like, "Free Your Mind," "Hold On" and "Lies," is back with a new single off of their forthcoming project.

En Vogue, whose current members consist of original members, Cindy Herron-Braggs, Terry Ellis, and the newest member, Rhona Bennett, has released the single "Deja Vu" as the lead single off their first album in almost five years.

Despite the disbandment of two of the original group members, Dawn Robinson and Maxine Jones, the trio is currently on tour according to the upcoming scheduled dates posted on Bandsintown.

In 2015, the group tried their luck at a comeback album under an exclusive contract with Rufftown Entertainment, as reported by Billboard. The label later sued the group alleging "breach of contract, negligence, interference and fraud," after then members, Ellis, Herron-Braggs and Jones, signed with another label without fulfilling the two album and touring contract with Rufftown.

The owner of the label, Rene Moore, explained in the lawsuit how he paid Herron-Braggs, Ellis and Jones roughly $190,000 in a 2010 deal that covered the group's advance, cost of travel and studio time, though the obligation was never fulfilled.

Now, the ladies are back with a mid-tempo hit released under En Vogue Records/En Vogue Enterprises. Herron-Braggs released a statement to Singersroom on remaining relevant and their growth in the music industry.

"Whether it's old-school soul or challenging prejudice and racism with "Free Your Mind," as a group, we are consistently evolving musically and staying relevant with the times," she told Singersroom. "We find total freedom and fulfillment when we hit the stage. It's the ultimate connection with our fans. It's about the energy you receive, the love, and the reciprocation from the message in the music."
