Alicia Keys is back. After going four years without new music, the "Girl on Fire" singer is back with her brand new single "In Common" and it is here right in time for the summer. The Latin and tropical infused track will appear on her upcoming sixth studio album.
The tune is something that should be all over radio and playlists this summer. Infused with a downtempo Latin rhythm and tropical notes, Alicia Keys showcases her talents as a singer once again.
Co-written by Keys, Illangelo, Billy Walsh and Tayla Parks, Keys coos out a love ballad to some man, presumably her husband Swizz Beats about how similar they are, despite their faults, and should be together.
Said I'd be gone by five / But it's sun rise and I'm still in your bed / Goodnight usually means goodbye / Me re-playing memories in my head / Look at you, look at you / Look what you made me do," Keys sings in the first verse.
She goes on to bring the relationship together in the fun and catchy chorus, "We got way too much in common / If I'm being honest with you / We got way too much in common / Since I'm being honest with you."
Illangelo handles the production.
"In Common" is the first bit of music fans have heard from Keys in four years. It is taken from her upcoming and still untitled sixth artist album due out later this year on RCA Records.
She has other music appearances coming up including on SNL this weekend and then during the Champions League Final between Athletico Madrid and the winner of Real Madrid and Manchester City on May 28.
