Ba Da Ba Ba Bah: Rapper Pusha T Reportedly Wrote the Famous McDonald’s Jingle

Everyone knows the famously (or infamously) ubiquitous refrain of "Ba-Da-Ba-Ba-Bah, I'm Lovin' It!" from radio, television and Internet advertisements for the omnipresent fast food chain, McDonald's. Reportedly, though once believed to be solely coined by Pharrell and Justin Timberlake, the earworm was collaboratively penned with none other than rapper Pusha T.

CEO of marketing firm Translation and former record industry executive Steve Stoute was recently interviewed by Hot 97's Ebro Darden. Over the course of the conversation, Stoute revealed that Pusha was actually the composer behind the inescapable hamburger anthem.

The enormously popular jingle is McDonald's longest-running ad campaign in their 76-year history. Launched in 2003, the fast food giant paid Justin Timberlake $6 million to sing it, according to a report from the New York Times.

As mentioned, it was previously understood that Timberlake wrote the jingle with artist Pharrell. Stoute claims that Pusha actually wrote it as one of his marketing firm's first major projects.

Pusha, real name Terrence Thornton, is signed to Kanye West's GOOD Music, Inc., releasing his debut album with the label in 2013. He spent his formative years in Virgina rap duo Clipse with rapper No Malice, a.k.a. his brother Gene Thornton. Pusha's sophomore album, King Push -- Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude, was released last year, with third album King Push to reportedly follow later this year.

When asked last year by Pitchfork about the current state of rap music, Pusha concluded that current efforts mainly lack substance, attempting to counterbalance the deficit with atmosphere:

"It's all feeling and vibe, no content. There are exceptions -- Kendrick [Lamar], of course. That was a concept. And Future. But other than that, everything is really... groovy. Across the board."

Below, listen to Pusha's stellar "King Push" from his 2013 GOOD Music debut, My Name Is My Name.
