Puff Daddy, Diddy, P. Diddy, whatever you want to call the man, mogul and artist, has announced that he is retiring from music after his next solo album No Way Out 2. Instead of doing music, he will return to acting and focus on it 100 percent.
The Bad Boy Records head honcho shared this information in a new cover story for Cigar Aficionado Magazine (via Complex), stating, "I'm going to put out my last album and devote 100 percent of my time to doing films."
He has a few things before he takes his shifts his focus 100 percent to Hollywood. There is still his next album No Way Out 2 and upcoming reunion tour with the Bad Boy Records family.
"I want to stop at a great place," he said. "And a final album is a great place to stop. I want to take a victory lap, to do a world tour and really enjoy it once last time."
It seems as though he just made his return to music a couple of years ago after stepping away to focus on ventures outside of music. He has been a steady presence on production for various artists like Pusha T and others, while releasing his mixtape MMM on his birthday last year.
While Diddy says this will be his last hurrah, we have seen this before so it could be a smart marketing ploy to build excitement for the album and his world tour. In all fairness he has said that the world tour would be his last one, so it does make sense for him to call it quits from music after this go around.
