While Drake's "One Dance" remained on top of the Billboard Hot 100 and DJ Khaled is set to open a Beyonce tour and release his album, Major Key, the two musicians worked on a collaboration, "For Free," which was recently released in Apple Music.
Khaled sat with Apple Music's Beats 1 with Zane Lowe where he premiered the summertime song and expressed his appreciation to Drake saying that working with him is "always a special moment” and that he is "very grateful" for the opportunity.
Said track is a preview of his upcoming album, Major Key, which will be featuring Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, and Rick Ross. The new track is produced by nineteen85 and Majid Jordan's Jordan Ullman.
The full title of the song is "F--- Me for Free" which talks about money and women with a line that says, "I always wonder if you ask yourself, is it just me / Or is this so so good I shouldn't have to (expletive) for free."
“It’s gonna be every female’s favorite record and every hustler’s favorite record,” Khaled said, according to Rap-Up. “When Drake and Khaled come together, it’s always the biggest anthems.”
Drake also paid homage to Kendrick Lamar's "For Free? (Interlude)" where he rapped: "And like your boy from Compton said / you know this (expletive) ain't free." It also referred to Akinyele’s “F–k Me For Free” and included a quote from a different Too $hort song, “Blow The Whistle,” Slate reported.
He also revealed a forthcoming song titled "I Got the Keys," which is a collaboration with Jay Z and Future. The release date of the new album is not announced yet, Billboard reported.
Apart from this song, Drake and Khaled collaborated in the past for the tracks “No New Friends” and “Fed Up.”
