Original Drummer Steven Adler Reunites with Guns N' Roses at 'Not In This Lifetime' Tour Stop

The original drummer of Guns N’ Roses, Steven Adler, recently reunited with the band at a recent Not In This Lifetime Tour stop in Cincinnati, Ohio. Adler had been long estranged from the band, but has agreed to reunite with the other original members onstage for select stops. He played on two of the songs that made the band world famous during the performance.

According to Billboard, the band played “It’s So Easy,” “Mr. Brownstone,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Double Talkin’ Jive” and a cover of “Live and Let Die” by Wings for the opening. Axl Rose also reportedly did not let pain from a recently broken foot slow him down onstage.

The show marked Adler’s first performance with Guns N’ Roses since 1990, but his playing on classic hit “My Michelle” would indicate otherwise. Slash also reportedly gave Adler a hug onstage following the song.

In other tour news, the band has added an eclectic plethora of openers to the tour, which includes Skrillex, Chris Stapleton, Alice in Chains, Lenny Kravitz, Billy Talent and The Cult.

Alice in Chains performed with Guns N’ Roses on their opening night in Detroit, Michigan and will served as openers for the band until their Chicago date last week. Kravitz is slated to join the band on July 19 in Boston and will play dates with the group until a New Jersey date on July 24.

The tour itself runs until Aug. 22, and there have been rumors of international dates.

“I don’t normally do gigs like this,” Kravitz said to Rolling Stone when his dates were announced. “But sometimes you’ve got to do things for the fun of it, for the experience. I’m looking forward to playing them and celebrating them coming back together.”

Kravitz further said, “We’re definitely going to jam and improvise and treat it like a festival.”
