Lady Gaga is slated to release her new single “Perfect Illusion” this Friday. “Perfect Illusion” marks the pop artist’s first new single in three years. Gaga announced the release date of the new single via Twitter.
Gaga also released the cover art for the new single to Twitter and revealed of the lyrics to the leading track from her forthcoming album, which remains untitled.
(“I don’t need eyes to see/ I felt you touchin’ me/ High like amphetamine/ Maybe you’re just a dream”) were the lyrics shared by Gaga in a tweet and photo collage.
Billboard reports that at the iHeartRadio Music Summit this past month she said of the new single, “The song is about modern ecstasy… We found our sweet, simple, rage way of saying it… I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it.”
The upcoming single was produced by Gaga, Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala and BloodPop.
In an effort to tease her audience, Gaga even tweeted a photo of herself in a truck, which is rumored to be a shoot for the upcoming music video.
