Madonna has long been teasing her new single "Messiah" on her Instagram account and today (July 7), the queen of pop has taken things one step farther... by revealing some key lyrics from her new single.
According to Madge's Instagram, it seems as though "Messiah" will take on an esoteric overtone, with lyrics featuring references to sorcery, the moon, thrones and angels -- and.in her Instagram post, a misspelling of the word "reap."
"I am the promise that you cannot keep / Reep what you sow, find what you seek / I am the sorceress down in the deep / I am the earth under your feet / I am the moon with no light of my own / You are the sun guarding your throne / I heard the angels whisper to me / Look for the signs / He is the one / I'll light a candle here in the dark / Making my way to your heart," the lyrics read, recalling medieval times and mystic creatures.
She captioned the image with the phrase "Salvation through Art! #heart #messiah #livingforlove."

The sample lyrics aren't the first time Madonna has teased her new single "Messiah" on her Instagram page. The legendary pop star has also posted sheet music for the song and a short video of an orchestra warming up.
That very same orchestra can be seen in the background of the "Messiah" lyrics photo.
"Messiah" is presumably the lead single from Madonna's forthcoming album. Reports have circulated that she's been hard at work in the studio, with the likes of Diplo, for the follow-up to her 2012 record MDNA.
