It is the week of the festival lineups. Shaky Knees has announced its 2017 billing with LCD Soundsystem, Phoenix and The xx headlining.
Other names at the top of the bill include X Ambassadors, Third Eye Blind, Cage The Elephant, The Shins, Pixies, Portugal. The Man, Nick Murphy, Catfish and the Bottleman, Bleachers & Dr. Dog.
The Atlanta music festival has always had a reputation of sticking with rock, indie, folk & country even while many other festival shift their focus towards dance & hip-hop.
Other notable names on the lineup include Fidlar, The Growlers, Car Seat Headrest, Sylvan Esso, J. Roddy Walston & The Business, Hamilton Leithauser, Modern Baseball, Whitney, Cloud Nothings & Lewis Del Mar.
The lineup has some buzzing acts like Lo Moon, Car Seat Headrest & Whitney, but also some artists who aren't doing the normal US festival run. This could be because they aren't releasing an album this year or they aren't the "hot" artist right now so they won't be picked up as a trendy new act on festival lineups.
This is also one of the few festivals that LCD Soundsystem is playing this summer after they did the circuit last year. So if you missed them in 2016, this could be your chance in 2017.
Past artists who have performed at the festival include Modest Mouse, The Avett Brothers, Wilco, Florence & The Machine, Alabama Shakes, The Lumineers and The National.
The fifth edition of Shaky Knees will take place Centennial Olympic Park and International Plaza from Friday, May 12th to Sunday, May 14th.
Advanced general admission & VIP passes for Shaky Knees go on sale today, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. Head to the festival's website for more information and to get your tickets.
