Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) will still be suffering the trauma of his wrongful arrest when “Criminal Minds” Season 13 returns this fall. Mr. Scratch (Bodhi Elfman) put him through hell last season but spoilers tease that Reid will be instrumental in the criminal’s capture this time around.
In “Criminal Minds” Season 13, Reid will be out of prison and back at the BAU. However, he still has to deal with what happened. EP Erica Messer revealed to TV Line that fans should expect to see shades of how Reid changed, but for the better.
Messer said that although the show won’t dwell on his experience last season, they also won’t pretend that it never happened. She further teased, “A little of the innocence is gone, and yet he’s still the lovable, brilliant Dr. Reid.”
Meanwhile, Adam Rodriguez, who plays Luke Alvez, teased that there is a possibility that Mr. Scratch will fall for the BAU’s trap in “Criminal Minds” Season 13. Since Reid was his last target, he may be used to lure the brilliant serial killer out of his hiding according to TV Guide. He will surely not let the opportunity to torment Reid again just like last season.
Whether Reid will agree to be used to bring down Scratch remains to be seen in “Criminal Minds” Season 13. Will he also be up for it? After everything he went through in the hands of Mr. Scratch, he might need a lot of recovery time and therapy at the start of the new season.
“Criminal Minds” Season 13 spoilers indicate that two BAU members will die from the terrible car crash that happened in last season’s finale. BAU Chief Emily Prentiss’ (Paget Brewster) leadership will really be put to the test. It will be difficult to encourage her team to continue with their jobs and life in general after losing people dear to them.
