WATCH: Eminem's 'Walk On Water' Music Video Released, But No Sign Of Beyoncé

Eminem has released the official music video of his first single, "Walk on Water," from his new album, Revival.

The song was the much-awaited collaboration with Beyoncé. The clip was first released on Apple Music.

Two Legends Collide

Eminem first teased the clip on Dec. 20.

The five-minute video opens with Eminem sitting in the dark with a mic stand in front of him. He, then, enters a room where clones of him type away on their typewriters.

As he sings, "Am I lucky to be around this long," the rapper goes through several wardrobe and set changes, referencing his long and successful career in the music industry. The next part sees him walking on a frozen lake (where more clones float beneath the icy surface). Eminem walks toward the middle and uncovers what looks a giant statue.

By the end of the video, the real Slim Shady stands up and reveals himself among the clones. He looks at the camera, holding a lyrics sheet, proclaiming to the audience: "B****, I wrote Stan."

While Beyoncé's voice can be heard prominently throughout the song, particularly in the chorus, she did not participate in the making of the music video.

First Choice

Initially, Beyoncé was not Eminem's first choice as a collaborator in "Walk on Water." Music producer and the rapper's long-time collaborator, Denaun Porter, revealed that the award-winning rapper-songwriter had his eyes on Adele.

In an interview with ThisIs50, Porter recounted that the song was initially intended to have the "Someone Like You" singer but something happened that prevented her from lending her voice.

Eventually, they decided to court Beyoncé. He added that there are not a lot of artists whose voices would be a perfect fit for the song.

Eminem's 'Revival'

Revival is the Detroit rapper's ninth studio album and first since 2013's The Marshall Mathers LP 2. It was released on Dec. 15 and immediately shot up into the music charts.

On Sunday, Dec. 24, the album reached the number one spot on the Billboard 200. It is his eighth consecutive chart-topping album.

Eminem is the first act in history of Billboard 200 album chart to have eight consecutive entries debut at number one. His previous releases that made it to the top are The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Recovery, Relapse, Curtain Call: The Hits, Encore, The Eminem Show, and The Marshall Mathers LP. His first major label album, The Slim Shady LP, reached the second spot when it was released in 1999.
