Run The Jewels will be headlining the first ever Adult Swim Festival, a music and pop culture event, which is happening in Los Angeles later this year.
What To Expect
According to the network, aside from music, the festival will also hold panel discussions, comedy sets, interactive gaming, and a marketplace that sells exclusive merchandise and collectible.
Fans can catch exclusive pilots, previews, and premieres for the network's upcoming and popular shows. The network will also have brand partners at the festival but will make sure that each will have something relevant to offer to the attendees.
Hopefully, at some point, Rick and his grandson Morty will be able to perform their hit single "Get Schwifty."
Organizers of the event say they expect about 15,000 attendees at the festival per day. The event will take place on October 6 and 7.
"We've always been committed to bringing fans unique events and experiences," said Jill King, Cartoon Network senior vice president of Marketing and Partnerships. "Over the years, we've done successful tours, panels and popup events at places like San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic Con, as well as our Adult Swim on the Green event that visits smaller markets. This event is an opportunity to expand and invest in our portfolio with a flagship festival that we can grow year to year."
Adult Swim has consistently been making efforts to support up and coming artists. The network has what it calls the Singles Program, which has generated over 20 million streams on SoundCloud. The only project has featured more than 100 artists in the span of three years.
The network also regularly held public events, including the Samurai Jack premiere last year as a celebration of the animated show's conclusion after nearly 14 years of hiatus. Samurai Jack: The Premiere Movie was screened in theaters nationwide.
Last year, the network also went on tour across the United States last September and previewed up and coming shows, specials, and more.
For the Adult Swim Festival, the network will open early bird ticket sales on Friday, March 16, on its official website. The Early Bird Weekend Pass will include admission wristbands for Saturday and Sunday, the commemorative lanyard, priority access, priority lane at the bars and merch areas within the festival, exclusive giveaways, and complimentary preview night access on Friday. The Early Bird Passes costs $195.
To promote the event, the network also released an NSFW trailer featuring Rick and Morty and a song from Run The Jewels. Watch the videos below.
