Craig David makes everybody's commute a little more special by treating fans to an impromptu live concert on a bus.
Jamming With Strangers
On Tuesday, March 27, the singer-songwriter streamed a video on Facebook where he jumped on a random bus and surprised an unsuspecting audience of a rendition of his song "7 Days."
The track is from his 2000 album Born To Do It. In 2002," 7 Days" peaked at the number 10 spot of Billboard's Hot 100.
Initially, the bus commuters seemed to ignore David as he enters and finds a spot. Eventually, while speaking to his guitarist companion, his fans started recognizing him.
By the time he started singing, the entire bus' attention was on him. The kids who were first chatting by themselves at the end of the vehicle were also singing along.
The performance was met with an applause.
"I think bus rides should always be like this," he told the crowd.
He also performed the song "Magic" from his new album The Time Is Now.
Some social media users are doubting the authenticity of the video. They pointed out that David and his crew did not pay the bus when they boarded and that none of the "surprised" commuters were filming the impromptu performance.
David is set to return to London next month to perform at Queen Elizabeth II's 92nd birthday celebration on April 21. Other musicians invited to grace the event include Kylie Minogue, Tom Jones, Shaggy, Sting, and Shawn Mendes.
In a recent interview, he revealed that, if invited, he would not hesitate to perform at the royal wedding of actress Meghan Markle to Prince Harry.
"Listen, if I got invited to witness one of the most biggest talking points of modern history when it comes to the royal family, it would be amazing to be there," he said. "It's a beautiful couple, and it's great to see they found love and I just feel like it's going to grow because there's a generation who are going to discover the royal family in a slightly different way, I think this is a really good time for Meghan and for Harry."
Craig David And Justin Bieber
In a concert in Los Angeles last week, the "Sorry" singer was spotted in the crowd dancing with model Baskin Champion. David acknowledged Bieber's presence in the audience and called the young singer to come join him onstage.
"So this guy right here supported me from day one, came to my shows," Bieber told the crowd. "I've got so much love for him. He's an amazing guy, but he's an incredible artist and I'm just glad to be here. I had so much fun."
