Britney Spears welcomes the newest addition to their family. Her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, just gave birth to her second baby, Ivey Joan.
Ivey Joan is Jamie Lynn's first child with her husband Jamie Watson. She is also a mom to Maddie Briann, 9, from a previous relationship. On her Twitter account, Britney shared a beautiful photo of her sister with her family.
In the photo, Jamie Lynn is holding her newborn daughter while her eldest daughter and husband look at the infant lovingly.
Jamie Lynn Spears Announces Second Pregnancy
Jamie Lynn first confirmed her pregnancy on Christmas Eve via a post on her social media account. The 27-year-old mom of two said that Maddie Briann is going to become a big sister.
"Looks like we are starting off 2018 with another big milestone... so happy to announce that Maddie is FINALLY going to be a big sister. 2017 was filled with some of the biggest challenges of my life, as well as some of the biggest blessings, so I made a choice to lay low this year to focus on truly becoming my best self as a person and as an artist," wrote Jamie Lynn.
After giving birth to her second child, Jamie Lynn also confirmed the news on Twitter. According to one publication, Ivey Joan weighs 7 lbs., 8 oz., and she was actually born on Wednesday, April 11.
Britney Spears Accepts Vanguard Award
Other than welcoming her niece to the world, Britney also made headlines recently. She was photographed in a cut-out silver mini-dress during her acceptance of the Vanguard Award onstage. In her speech, Britney thanked the LGBTQ community for their love and appreciation.
"I feel like our society puts such an emphasis on what's 'normal' and to be 'different' is unusual or seen as strange. But to be accepted unconditionally and to be able to express yourself as an individual through art is such a blessing. We can lift each other up and show our gifts without hesitation. Being a mother has shown me what it means to love unconditionally and you all in this room have shown me throughout my career what it means to be loved unconditionally," said Britney.
It was Ricky Martin who presented the award to the "I'm a Slave 4 U" singer this week. He described her as an ally, fighter, and friend. The two artists were also photographed onstage together.
