Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams, also known as Destiny's Child, reunited onstage at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Nothing But The Best
On Saturday, April 14, Beyoncé took the stage to become the first black woman to headline the anticipated annual event. During her epic two-hour set, the mother of three performed a total of 26 songs, rocked several Balmain outfits, and made the night extra special by bringing out Williams and Rowland for a long-awaited reunion concert.
To the uninitiated, Beyoncé started out as a member of Destiny's Child, a girl group first formed in 1997 in Houston, Texas. The trio of women released several hits including "Survivor," "Independent Women," and "Bootylicious."
They held their final performance as a girl group back in 2006.
Rumors about the reunion were confirmed hours before the show. Balmain designer, Olivier Rousteing, revealed the good news in an interview with Vogue where he talked about dressing Beyoncé, Rowland, Williams, and some 200 backup dancers for Coachella 2018.
On Saturday night, following a few epic solo performances, the singer switched into a camo bodysuit and reemerged onstage with Williams and Rowland as Destiny's Child. The girl group sang their hit singles "Lose My Breath," "Say My Name," and "Soldier."
Following the Destiny's Child reunion, Beyoncé also invited her husband Jay-Z onstage to perform "Deja Vu." Solange Knowles and Les Twins also appeared during her set, reported The Washington Post.
Beychella 2018 Reaction
The Lemonade singer was initially billed to headline last year's Coachella, but she had to cancel after she found out that she was pregnant with kids. This made her appearance at this year's music festival even more anticipated by the thousands of fans who purchased tickets as early as January this year.
For her performance, the singer reportedly went through 11-hour per day rehearsals in Los Angeles, and it showed. Her set was nothing but perfection, and her fans are completely blown away by her performance. She truly is the greatest performer of her generation.
Queen Bey returns to the stage of Coachella 2018 next weekend. In the meantime, watch the Destiny's Child reunion below.
