The Voice Season 14 names Brynn Cartelli as its winner. The 14-year-old contestant was part of coach Kelly Clarkson's team.
Prior to the teenager's big win, all of the finalists on The Voice first showed off their singing chops. Coach Blake Shelton's two African-American contestants, Spensha Baker and Kyla Jade, were the first two to be booted off from the competition.
Finale Recap
Cartelli and Alicia Key's contestant, Britton Buchanan, were the final two contestants that vied for the title. Before Cartelli and Buchanan learned their fates, they first participated in the two-hour finale show. The former contestants on The Voice also performed with their favorite artists.
The 14-year-old Massachusetts native sang a medley of "Issues" and "Jump" with Julia Michaels. Buchanan performed with Ryan Adams on the song "To Be Without You."
Other performances included a duet between Baker and Kane Brown on the song "What If," and Jade and Jennifer Hudson had a duet on the song "I Know Where I've Been" by Queen Latifah.
The Voice Season 13 winner Chloe Kohanski also performed on the show on Tuesday night. Jason Aldean, Dua Lipa, Florence and the Machine, Halsey, and Big Sean also took the stage before the announcement was made.
Brynn Cartelli Gushes Over Kelly Clarkson
Following her recent success on The Voice, Cartelli opened up about her time on the show and dished on what it was like working with Clarkson. The American Idol winner will return to The Voice as coach next season.
"Kelly behind the scenes is the same way you see her on camera. She is hilarious. She's really real and caring. I've always looked up to her and now that I can get advice from her, it's incredible," said Cartelli.
Kelly Clarkson, Brynn Cartelli's Relationship
In return, an excited Clarkson also gushed over the contestant and said that they will be sisters for life.
"I'm gonna be Brynn's big sis for life. One just because I love her parents. We would totally barbecue. She's kind of stuck with me regardless if she desires it or not. I love being her friend, I love being her mentor, and being her cheerleader," said Clarkson.
The youngest winner of The Voice auditioned for the show twice. She decided to choose Clarkson as her coach because she is a huge fan of the singer.
During a previous interview, Cartelli said that she wants to focus on becoming a pop and soul singer after the competition.
