Chief Keef was reportedly shot outside of his hotel in New York City this weekend and he is blaming it on his beef with 6ix9ine.
In a new interview, the Chicago-born rapper revealed his dangerous encounter with an unidentified gunman, which took place on Saturday, June 2, in Midtown.
Chief Keef Blames 6ix9ine For Dangerous Encounter In New York
"I was just scared a little bit and I didn't know what to do," he told The New York Post.
The 22-year-old recounted that he was coming back around dawn to W Hotel where he was staying when two unidentified men confronted him. Immediately after the altercation, he went up to his room to cool himself down.
A few hours later, he came back down not knowing that both men stayed and waited for him. That was when one of them revealed a gun and shot at the "Love Sosa" rapper.
Fortunately, instead of hitting Chief Keef, whose real name is Keith Farrelle Cozart, the bullet missed and hit the side of the hotel. The artist insisted that both men had guns, but only one of them took the shot. They then fled the scene of the crime.
The New York Post reports that by Saturday afternoon, both men are still being sought by the authorities.
Meanwhile, Chief Keef immediately returned to his base in Los Angeles. He reassured fans that he is unharmed.
He also blamed the dangerous altercation on his ongoing beef with fellow rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine.
"It's just beef between me and the rapper 6ix9ine," he stated.
Chief Keef, 6ix9ine Beef Timeline
The drama between the two rappers started back in May when Chief Keef was featured in "I Kill People," a track by Trippie Redd who has an ongoing beef with 6ix9ine. In the diss track, the rappers threatened to kill 6ix9ine.
"You know I kill people, real people/ From the trenches where it's real lethal, tote real regals," Trippie Redd raps.
While he did not directly name 6ix9ine, Hot New Hip-Hop said that Trippie Redd alludes to his fellow rapper to "find his chill." The track also features Tadoe who has an issue with the Brooklyn-born rapper getting involved with his ex Cuban Doll.
The diss track was released on Friday, June 1.
In some now-deleted posts on Instagram, 6ix9ine also called out Chief Keef and Lil Reese for not living the kind of life that they rap about. He also taunted both rappers for their empty threats and challenged them to face him in New Jersey.
