Mary J. Blige Signs On To Star In Horror Thriller ‘Body Cam’

Mary J. Blige is set to appear on Paramount's upcoming horror thriller film Body Cam. She will play the role of a police officer in the project.

Body Cam was first reported in March. The movie will be directed by Malik Vitthal and produced by Matt Kaplan from an original script by Nick Richmond Riedel, which Nick McCarthy and John Ridley have rewritten.

The film will center on the lives of a slew of police officers led by Blige's character. They will be haunted by a spirit that has ties to the murder of a young black person. The unnamed character will be killed by two white officers, with the incident being filmed on their body camera.

Other details about Body Cam such as the official release date and casting will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

Mary J Blige, Kendu Isaacs Divorce

Blige also made headlines this week after it had been reported that her divorce from Kendu Isaacs is already finalized. According to multiple publications, the ex-couple's request to end their marriage has been approved by a Los Angeles judge. However, details about the content of their settlement agreement are still kept under wraps.

Blige first announced her divorce from Isaacs last year during an interview after being married for 12 years. Despite the fallout from their marriage, Blige said that she is doing everything to keep her spirits up.

"I'm living. I'm not happy about a lot of things. I thought someone loved me, right? Turns out, he was a con artist and he didn't, and now he's coming after me for all my money. When you come out of something like that, you realize you were never the one. There was someone else that was his queen," said Blige.

Singer Ordered To Pay Spousal Support

The singer also acknowledged the fact that Isaacs tricked her, but she refused to focus on the negative. Instead, Blige looked at the positive because not doing so could destroy her.

Last year, a judge ordered Blige to pay Isaacs $30,000 per month in temporary spousal support. The singer later requested the court to terminate the agreement. She said that Isaacs spent a huge sum of money on a woman he had an affair with while they were still married.

Months later, he fired back by saying that he has suffered from emotional distress due to their personal problems.
