The rollout plans for Hilary Duff's comeback single "Chasing The Sun" may have been minorly derailed yesterday (July 28) when the highly anticipated track leaked, but that didn't stop the former Lizzie McGuire actress and current singer (again) from still releasing her new music video. Early this morning (July 29), Duff dropped the tropical themed official visual for her first new song in seven years, and it's as cute and carefree as Duff has ever been.
Reflecting the single's lyrics about getting away from the rush of everyday working life in favor of a weekend or more at the beach, the music video for "Chasing The Sun" features Duff working in a drab office environment... sitting in front of a computer, eating lunch in a gray break room, all while pining for a bit of a sunnier environment.
In dream sequences and hopeful thoughts of Duff's, the 26-year-old singer goes to a day at the beach with one hunk of a man. The two frolic in the sand and water, play volleyball and rub suntan lotion on each other's backs.
Of course, Duff isn't really on the beach, and the clip humorously and adorkably cuts to the singer in her office environment, almost spiking a hamster ball, getting something rubbed on her by a very unsexy coworker and drinking coffee from a martini glass.
It's the exact innocent, carefree video this track deserves.
