'Fozzy' Bids Goodbye to Frank Fontsere; Replacement Drummer Revealed

Rock band "Fozzy" will embark on a new chapter after their longtime drummer Frank Fontsere has left the band; who could be his replacement?

In an Instagram post, the band addressed the issue, saying Fontsere is stepping down as the band's drummer after almost 20 years.

The reason behind his exit is for him to focus on his family and "other projects." (read the complete statement below)

In the same statement, the band also revealed that they found a new drummer after an "extensive audition process. Fontsere's replacement would be Grant Brooks of the band "Through Fire."

"Fozzy" also said they are looking forward to "unleash the pure energy" that Brooks brings to the band.

"We look forward to the biggest year in our history! Love you guys and see you soon!" the band concluded, signed by Chris Jericho, Rich "The Duke" Ward, Billy Grey, and P.J. Farley.

Grant Brooks Shares his Sentiments on Being 'Fozzy's New Drummer

In a separate social media post, Brooks opened up about his experience with "Through Fire" over the past four years.

He mentioned that he played in some of the biggest festivals in his career with the band. He thanked the band for making him a national touring artist.

"I will never forget these memories with my brothers who will always be my family," he added.

However, he mentioned that it's time to part ways with the group, but he clarified that there is "no bad blood," and they will continue to support him with everything he does.

Speaking about his new gig as "Fozzy's" drummer, Brooks said he's "super excited" to embark on a new journey with his friends and crew in the band.

2022 is 'Fozzy's Biggest Year

According to Blabbermouth, the band will release a new album titled "Boombox" on April 15. The record will include some of their top 10 singles like "Sane" and "Nowhere to Run."

"Fozzy" is also set to perform in their "Save The World" 2022 tour around the United States. The band will feature other acts like "GFM," "Krashkarma," and "The Nocturnal Affair."

Their first show would be in Detroit, Michigan, on March 16. The band will conclude their tour on May 16 in Sauget, Illinois.

Aside from their shows, they would also host an album-release party on April 11 at Irving Plaza in New York City.
