More than a month after the rapper's murder, his family is now finally taking legal action.

Several Drakeo the Ruler family members recently declared that they wanted to launch a wrongful death lawsuit against Live Nation and other involved parties.

The lawsuit comes on the heels of Drakeo the Ruler's fatal on-stage stabbing at a Los Angeles music event last month.

The legal action

The wrongful death lawsuit, which has not yet been filed, will accuse concert promoter Live Nation and two other festival organizers.

Drakeo's estate sues the involved parties of failing to provide adequate security in the lead-up to the attack at the Once Upon a Time in LA Music Festival, which resulted in the death of the up-and-coming Los Angeles rapper at the age of 28.

Live Nation and the other festival organizers have not responded to requests for comment.

According to the family's attorneys, the lawsuit will be filed next week and will seek at least $20 million in compensation.

It was initially reported that this suit was on the way a week after Drakeo's death in December 2021.

It was just recently that Billboard reported that James Bryant, the family's lawyer, has decided to pursue legal action against C3 Presents, Bobby Dee Presents, and Live Nation.

Live Nation was also behind the tragic Astrowold Festival, happened a month before Drakeo's murde, which claimed the lives of ten people leaving almost 300 injured.

Wrongful death?

In a press conference, Bryant, the family attorney, said that Drakeo was "essentially lynched" as there were not enough safety precautions to protect the rapper.

Noting that physical barricades were insufficient, Bryant also detailed that Drakeo, born Darell Wayne Caldwell, had "no security" to guard him.

The estate claimed that what happened was "a preventable death" only if the promoters had strict and proper security and safety protocols in place.

Bryant continued to taunt those responsible for the negligence as those will "going to be held accountable" as a criminal investigation by local authorities are already in place.

Caught in a camera, Drakeo the Ruler was seen stabbed during a physical altercation that erupted backstage at the "Once Upon a Time Festival" on December 18 last month.

Rushed into the hospital shortly, the budding rapper eventually succumbed to complications because of the severity of his injuries.
