Days after postponing his supposed "huge" announcement, The Weeknd finally dropped the bomb news, and fans are in a frenzy of the shocking news.
Last week, The Weeknd posted a series of cryptic tweets that left fans wondering about the meaning. For some, they thought it would be a deluxe edition of the recently-released "Dawn FM," while some thought it was just an announcement of his tour, with no less than him as the touring artist.
Well, the "huge" news he has been teasing about lived up to everyone's expectations.
The Weeknd and Doja on Tour
To much of everyone's surprise, Abel Tesfaye, The Weeknd, will be bringing alongside the reigning Pop Princess and TikTok royalty Doja Cat with him on his entire North American tour.
Abel took to social media to announce the details of the tour, leaving fans shocked and excited for the tour collaboration of the two.
Fans saw the two collaborate last year with "You Right," which peaked the Billboards Hot 100 at No. 11 and UK Singles Chart at No. 9.
The Weeknd's North American leg of his tour will begin on July 8 in his hometown, Toronto, Canada.
'Dawn FM' with 'After Hours'
It will feature performances in favor of his most recent album, Dawn FM, and performances of songs from his previous album, After Hours.
The arena tour for the 2020 album was initially postponed owing to coronavirus worries but was ultimately canceled due to venue restrictions and a lack of demand for further gigs.
"After Hours: Arena Tour" ticket holders will have special access to a presale starting today. The general sale for the public will be on March 10, but Verizon offers an exclusive presale for Verizon Up subscribers on March 7 - 9.
News about additional dates for Mexico, Asia, South America, Australia, Europe, New Zealand, the Middle East, and Africa will soon be released.
As per the press release, this "Dawn FM" tour will be The Weeknd's "most ambitious production to date," reflecting the creative journey that Abel has gone through from "After Hours" to "Dawn FM."
Also, the tour will coincide with The Weeknd's philanthropic endeavor as he partnered with the United Nations World Food Programme to launch the XO HUMANITARIAN FUND.
Abel will be donating 500,000 dollars to the fund and a dollar per sold concert ticket in his North American leg.
