Pearl Jam is hitting the stage again to resume their postponed 2020 "Gigaton" tour.
Two years after Pearl Jam decided to halt their North American tour as part of their "Gigaton" LP promotion, the rock band confirmed its return to perform in front of their fans in 19 venues.
Rolling Stone reported that Pearl Jam's "Gigaton" tour would start on May 3, and their schedules would also reach Canada following their North American leg. Eddie Vedder is set to front the band throughout the 19 schedules.
The tour dates' venues include Viejas Arena in San Diego, The Forum in Los Angeles, Save Mart Arena in Fresno, Videotron Center in Quebec City, FirstOntario Center in Hamilton, Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and Ball Arena in Denver, among others.
Red Hot Chili Peppers' Josh Klinghoffer would open the show with his solo project, Pluralone. He would also be a permanent touring member of the band alongside Vedder, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, and Matt Cameron.
Pearl Jam Also Wants Tours To Be Eco-Friendly
Pearl Jam's return is not only about performing again, but it will also bring back the band's efforts in reducing their carbon footprint. In the past years, they have paid $200 per ton for carbon dioxide mitigation to help themselves in decreasing their impact on the environment and global warming.
In a press release, Gossard said they needed to multiple the effort as the planet continues to suffer from the effects of global warming.
"By committing to this aggressive pricing, we hope to equally amplify our efforts and gather partners who share our urgency to make the investments and innovations required to move our world to a more conscious, carbon balanced economy," he said.
Pearl Jam joined a long list of bands and musicians who have been making the same efforts to help the environment.
Most recently, Contact Music and Loud Wire confirmed that Bring Me The Horizon followed a more eco-friendly touring during their first UK arena tour. Contact Music and Loud Wire, confirmed that Bring Me The Horizon followed a more eco-friendly touring during their first UK arena tour.
According to the news outlets, they began their groundwork during their tour last year. The band was able to do so by using renewable fuel for trucks, having plant-based meals, and preventing the use of plastic bottles.
