Brandy has seen the viral video of Jack Harlow finding out she's Ray J's sister. It's not clear whether she only saw it recently, quite later than most people when it circulated online, or just opted to react late. What's clear is that she has a lot to say about it now, which seems to annoy some fans.
During an interview uploaded on YouTube last week, Hot 97's Ebro Darden, Laura Stylez, and Peter Rosenberg challenged the 24-year-old "First Class" rapper's musical knowledge by playing tracks and asking him to identify the title and artist. At one point, Darden played "Angel in Disguise" by Brandy to Harlow, thinking it would be an easy win, but Harlow was unfamiliar with the song.
Stylez attempted to imply that Moesha starred in a television show, pointing to Ray J's infamous sex tape with Kim Kardashian. Rosenberg then stated, Her brother is the reason why a lot of people are famous, you can argue," referencing Ray J's infamous sex tape with Kim Kardashian.
"Who's Ray J's sister?" asked Harlow, Jeopardy style. "I didn't know they were siblings. Who is it?"
The hosts then informed him that Brandy, whose full name is Brandy Norwood, performed the song. After attributing Harlow's ignorance to his youth, Darden expressed his incredulity that Harlow did not know Ray J and Brandy were siblings.
"Brandy and Ray J are siblings? Nobody's ever told me that in my life. Nobody's ever told me that," replied Harlow, visibly shocked. "Y'all got a good clip off that one. Ray J and Brandy are siblings? I had no idea, bruh."
The interview clip went viral on social media, causing Brandy to respond on Monday, just as Harlow had predicted. In response to a fan's repost of the Hot 97 video, the "I Wanna Be Down" singer wrote, "I will murk this dude in rap at 43 on his own beats and then sing [his] ass to sleep."
In a subsequent tweet, Brandy stated that she's merely having a little fun and was not really that angry. She even said she's all about love.
While many followers responded humorously to Brandy's tongue-in-cheek tweet, one fan remarked, "Not you sat on this for a few days and now deciding to reply after it died down it's not that deep.
Brandy responded to the fan's tweet in order to ensure her followers knew its playful character. She said she realized that she's insanely late but clarified that it was however really, just a joke. She commented on Twitter, that she did not even have an idea that he rapped, so he was simply "poking."
