Machine Gun Kelly recently announced that a new touring member had been added to his band, and many people aren't that familiar with her. The big question is: Who is Sophie Lloyd?
According to Loudwire, the guitarist has been making a name for herself over the past years as she's popularly known in the guitar music scene.
Lloyd is known for her metal rock covers on YouTube and Instagram. She previously went viral for her metal renditions of Britney Spears's "Toxic," Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train," and many more.
The female guitarist first teased her followers on her Instagram stories, saying she's been busy working on "some crazy stuff," and she can't wait to share the big news with their fans.
"Definitely about to enter the some of the craziest few months of my life so keep your eyes out!!" she wrote.
Today, Machine Gun Kelly has confirmed that Lloyd is officially a part of his touring band by posting a video of their rehearsals.
"Adding a new friend to the band," the punk rock singer wrote.
The guitarist also shared the same video on her social media account, writing, "Secret's out! I'll be joining Machine Gun Kelly on his Mainstream Sellout Tour this year!! So incredibly excited and honoured to be given this opportunity."
Who Is Sophie Lloyd?
According to her bio on her official website, Lloyd started being fascinated with music when she was a young girl.
Her inspiration came from classic metal bands like Black Label Society, Pantera, Iron Maiden, and more.
The guitarist is unique in her own way as she loves blending "heavy and technical style with the expression and feeling of blues guitarists."
Other inspirations include Joe Bonamassa and Rory Gallagher.
Lloyd is not new to the mainstream music scene as she previously released her debut EP in 2018, titled "Delusions."
Her success skyrocketed because of social media when she started posting content on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.
Machine Gun Kelly's 'Mainstream Sellout' Tour
MGK will embark on his highly-anticipated tour called "Mainstream Sellout," which was named after his recent album.
The first show will kick off at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, on June 8.
Fans are excited to watch the show as many singers will be touring with the rapper. Guest stars include Avril Lavigne, Willow, blackbear, Iann Dior, PVRIS, Trippie Redd, and Travis Barker.
