Naomi Judd's death has shocked the music industry because of his untimely passing. While the community is still mourning over a loss of an icon, the family that the matriarch has left is taking the hardest blow - particularly her daughter Wynonna Judd, who is set to continue her mother's legacy.
Wynonna Judd, the other half of The Judds, recently opened up on the tragic loss of her mother and longtime collaborator.
Naomi Judd Death Painful For Wynonna Judd
In a hefty message that the Country singer has posted on Instagram, she poured out her heart and penned an emotional tribute to her mother, who was reportedly dead exactly a month ago.
"There is so much happening in the world right now. So before I sat down to write this, I thought, "No...I just don't know what to say." Then, I heard the words from my life coach asking me, "What do you know?" And I began to cry," Wynonna wrote.
For her, she knew the "pain" of losing her mother was "so great" that she often felt like she would not be able to fully accept and surrender to the truth - leaving the way she did, ever. Wynonna affirmed that "this cannot be how The Judds story ends."
Feeling "so helpless," the 58-year-old singer revealed that in order for her to be a healthier grandparent to her firstborn grandchild, Kaliyah (who was born more than two weeks before Naomi died), she must continue to show up for herself and do the personal healing work.
The "Love Can Build A Bridge" hitmaker also disclosed that she made a commitment to keep doing the "next right thing," through scheduling "weekly appointments," which probably were seeing a therapist to get over her grief.
"I really DO know, that I'm not able to do this grieving thing all by myself, and that it's okay to reach out for help. I will continue to fight for my faith, for my SELF, for my family, and I WILL continue to show up & sing," she ended the statement.
Naomi Judd tragically passed away last Apr. 30, 2022. Her cause of death remained a mystery until it was disclosed days after. She died from a self-inflicting gunshot wound after struggling with a longtime mental illness.
