Days after the tragic and sudden passing of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins shocked the world, the band was quick to cancel all of their remaining appearances, performances, concerts, and tours.
With tributes and commemorations set out here and there, Hawkins' legacy in music was immortalized through murals, vigils, and performances.
Not more than three months since his death, The Foo Fighters have just announced a pair of tribute concerts for Taylor Hawkins.
Foo Fighters Tribute Concerts For Taylor Hawkins
In a post from their Instagram account, the Foo Fighters announced the "Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts," a commemorative concert honoring the legacy and music of the late drummer.
"As one of the most respected and beloved figures in modern music, Taylor's monolithic talent and magnetic personality endeared him to millions of fans, peers, friends and fellow musical legends the world over. Millions mourned his untimely passing on March 25, with passionate and sincere tributes coming from fans as well as musicians Taylor idolized," the statement reads.
Taylor Hawkins' family and The Foo Fighters organized "The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts," which will take place on Sep. 3, 2022, and Sep. 27, 2022, at the Wembley Stadium in London, United Kingdom, and at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California, respectively.
Playing both the songs he fell in love with and those he brought to life, the string of concerts will be uniting several musicians that Hawkins had idolized along with the band, his family, and fans in celebration of Taylor's memory and his legacy as a global rock icon.
The lineup for the all-star tribute concerts was not yet announced. Meanwhile, ticketing information can be accessed by subscribing to the band's mailing list here.
Along with the announcement, the band has also shared Taylor Hawkins' family's first official statement since his death.

"Taylor was honored to be a part of the Foo Fighters and valued his dream role in the band every minute of his 25 years with them. We consider every band member and the extended Foo Fighters team our family," Alison Hawkins, Taylor's wife, said in a statement.
Taylor Hawkins was found dead in his hotel room in Bogota, Colombia last Mar. 25, 2022, before their supposed performance at Bogotá's Festival Estéreo Picnic.
The late drummer's real cause of death has yet to be confirmed, but initial toxicology reports say that they had found traces of 10 types of substances in his system, including THC (marijuana), tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and opioids.
