Like his loss in the GRAMMYs last April, Lil Nas X worked his sadness on not nabbing any gramophone through penning a short song. This time, the rapper has done it again, only more vulgar, and a featuring from NBA YoungBoy.
In a new song titled, "late to da party," Lil Nas X is seen sitting in a car shirtless while flipping a finger on the African-American Award-giving body.
While some questions his motivations for calling out the BET, since he was already recognized by other institutions, the singer clarified his stance.

"We love Lil Nas X. He was nominated for a best new artist BET Award in 2020 and we proudly showcased his extraordinary talent and creativity on the show twice. Unfortunately, this year, he was not nominated by BET's Voting Academy, which is comprised of an esteemed group of nearly 500 entertainment professionals in the fields of music, television, film, and digital marketing," the BET said in a statement (via Variety).
BET clarified that no one from the organization was a member of the voting academy. They have also pointed out that they are "committed" to using their platforms to provide visibility and inclusion for all of the many intersections in the African-American community.
